As the Art teacher at TAPA, I have the opportunity to work with students over the course of several years, not just a semester or two. This affords us the privilege of getting to know each other and makes our work together so much more special. One of my favorite students is a man named Charles Brennan. Charles has been attending Art classes at TAPA for over 5 years.
Charlie is truly a pleasure to have in class. He arrives with his art supplies, music and notebooks full of ideas for paintings. He is eager to work and is always thinking about his fellow students. He is considerate of everyone and always shares his music so that our class has a soundtrack!
I am so pleased that some of his work has been chosen for the DOWNrightART Exhibition which opens on March 18 and will hang through April 22. The exhibition will be held at the Terra Cotta Gallery at the Castello Di Borghese Vineyards and Winery in Cutchogue.
The work chosen for the exhibition includes a collaged self-portrait and two watercolor resist paintings titled Koi Fish and Gum balls.
