The 23rd Annual Theresa Awards Dinner took place on Theresa’s Birthday, May 5th, 2017, at The Bridgeview Yacht Club. Over 250 guests enjoyed this special evening of fantastic food, music, dancing, and even more fantastic company. Our theme was “Helping Hands,” in celebration of those who volunteer their time, efforts, and love to those with special needs – especially our fantastic volunteers at the Theresa Foundation and at TAPA. Three individuals were honored for their outstanding efforts in advocating for those with special needs: Judy Murdagh-Jackson, a long-time, devoted volunteer and board member of the Theresa Foundation; Kelli Piacenti, a mother of a child with special needs and the dedicated Vice President of MassMutual’s SpecialCareSM Program; and Amos Goodall Jr., Esq., our NAELA Theresa Award recipient, whose stellar career as an attorney has included tirelessly advocating for children and seniors with special needs.
Over $96,000 was raised as a result of the Awards Dinner, which enables the Foundation to fund programs locally and nationally in music, dance, art, and recreation, as well as the Theresa Academy of Performing Arts and Theresa’s Fun Place in Roosevelt, NY. It was a beautiful evening enjoyed by all, and we look forward to seeing you at the 24th Annual Theresa Awards Dinner on Friday, May 4th, 2018!
