Apply for a Grant

If your organization is interested in applying for a grant from the Theresa Foundation that focuses on art, music, dance, drama, or recreation for children with special needs, please complete and submit a grant application for our consideration (link below).

DEADLINES:

  • January 15th (Spring/Summer Grants)

  • July 15th (Fall/Winter Grants)

To qualify for a GRANT, the following criteria must be met:

  • Applicant must be a non-profit organization or an individual applying for a service or support.

  • All programs must serve children with special needs. They may be inclusive programs with no less than 1/3 of the participants with disabilities.

  • Complete all sections of the grant application and submit all materials by the deadline.

  • Programs may receive grant funding once per calendar year. Individuals are not limited and may apply for consecutive grants.

“Children with Special Needs” refers to a diverse group of people with a wide range of needs. To see if you or your organization serves a population that would qualify for a grant from the Theresa Foundation, please CLICK HERE.

Please note that sponsorship requests are reviewed through a separate process and do not require a grant application.

FUNDING INFORMATION

The average grant application request is between $5,000 and $10,000. The Theresa Foundation has funded smaller and larger requests. Please apply only for the funds required for a successful program. Provide a detailed budget along with your application.

PROGRAM BREAKDOWNS

Examples of programs we have supported in the past include (but are not limited to):

  • ART - inclusive workshops spanning a weekend or an entire semester

  • MUSIC - lyric and song writing classes; African drumming; Music Therapy

  • DANCE - virbrotactile flooring for dance classes geared to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students; inclusive summer dance camp

  • DRAMA - Sensory Friendly performances; Sensory Immersion Theater; Mentor program at a drama school

  • RECREATION - summer camp; therapeutic horseback riding; adaptive tricycles; yoga
